It doesn’t take much to add a lot of flavor to your steamed veggies. Just throwing a couple cloves of garlic, or a couple of onions, into your vegetable steamer and then adding some salt or pepper afterwards can give you a ton of flavor. There are of course other options, though. Steaming the vegetables and then tossing them with some dressing, like a honey dijon, Italian, or a vinaigrette, is a great way to add a ton of flavor. You can also steam them with some rosemary, sage, or other spices on top of them. If you buy some of these herbs fresh you can put a lot less on them and get a lot more flavor.
